position overview:
we are seeking an experienced health, safety, and environment (hse) specialist to ensure that all company operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local and international hse regulations and be capable of implementing and overseeing policies that promote a safe and sustainable work environment.
key responsibilities:
* develop, implement, and maintain hse policies and procedures in line with legal regulations and company standards.
* conduct workplace audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and propose effective solutions.
* coordinate and deliver safety and environmental training for employees and contractors.
* monitor and investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
* perform regular inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
* prepare and present reports on hse performance to management.
* promote a culture of safety through awareness campaigns and active employee engagement.
* manage environmental compliance, ensuring company operations minimize environmental impact.
* collaborate with other departments, such as operations and human resources, to integrate hse policies into all work areas.
* stay updated on health, safety, and environmental regulations, implementing any necessary changes in company policies.
requirements:
* bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, industrial safety, or a related field.
* 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.
* in-depth knowledge of local and international health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* advanced communication skills in both english and spanish (written and spoken).
* ability to conduct risk assessments and safety audits effectively.
* hse certifications (e.g., osha, nebosh) are a plus.
* excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
