Responsible for growing existing accounts and generating new business to ensure that revenues meet or exceed budget in order to maximize revenue and profits, and to improve the hotel's performance in the marketplace.duties & functions:direct and manage all transient sales activities to maximize revenue for the hotelprepare, implement and compile data for the strategic sales plan, monthly smart goals, annual goals, sales, forecasts and other reports as directed/requireddevelop rates, and deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix managementparticipate in sales presentations, property tours and customer meetingsconduct and attend business review meetings, strategic sales meetings, management meetings and other meetings as required/ requestedrepresent the hotel in community and industry organizations and eventsparticipate as team player with other key executive membersbe a leader and role model to all team membersadminister and ensure timely completion of all activities of the sales departmentdevelop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and sop's, and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales teamdevelop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategiesmeet or exceed established goalscoordinate transient bookings to maximize profitsinitiate and follow up on leadsmonitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within said marketcoordinate all non-group transient sales solicitations to maximize market mixassist in the preparation of required reports in a timely mannerparticipate weekly sales meetings and daily line upsdevising or modifying procedures to solve process problems that will result in more efficientany other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager. We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service. We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.additional responsibilities communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the venue teams.communicate with employees using a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information. Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations and/or heavy restaurant activity, serving as a role model for team and other employees. Interact with other department personnel and venue staff as needed.make decisions and take actions based on previous experience and good judgment, sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations. Bachelor's degree preferredminimum five (5) years of sales leadership experience in similar sized operation required, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotelmust have comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage, catering sales, conference service and marketing management experience, guest relations and etiquettebasic understanding of legal contract languageproven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the company's values
