Job Description 
Manage the Equipment Maintenance department for Intuitive’s manufacturing operation in the Mexicali sites. Primary functional responsibilities include Corrective Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, and Calibration to deliver equipment maintenance services that meet quality specifications, achieve or exceed service level and cost targets while ensuring employees’ safety, complying with applicable regulations and company policies. This role will work directly with site leadership to align on goals and objectives. 
Essential Job Duties 
- Lead a team of supervisors, engineers and technicians to provide day‑to‑day support for equipment issues arising during operational shifts and to meet regulatory requirements within our QMS. 
- Deploy department goals (Hoshin Kanri) aligned to site overall goals, measure metrics (KPIs) and coordinate actions to ensure improvements. 
- Organize the team to conduct unplanned corrective maintenance and carry out all required Preventive Maintenance and Calibration activities. 
- Develop and maintain a resource allocation process aligned with Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) and Long‑Range Model (LRM). 
- Establish, manage and enhance key performance indicators (Mean Time To Assist, Mean Time To Repair, Mean Time Between Failure) and report them to Equipment Engineering and Operations teams. 
- Lead initiatives to enhance safety, quality, cost efficiency, and delivery performance. 
- Responsible for department budget planning (headcount, supplies, equipment purchases) and expense management to meet or exceed financial targets. 
- Track capital equipment for financial purposes. 
- Collaborate with the engineering team to update minimum and maximum targets for spare parts and ensure completeness to prevent downtime. 
- Identify, create and/or update equipment event notifications and related documentation to meet QMS standards. 
- Conduct regular audits to ensure operations are accurate and consistent. 
- Mentor and develop team members through tactical problem solving, set clear performance objectives, and translate challenges into growth opportunities. 
- Drive cross‑functional issue resolution and proactively recognize environmental changes to provide coordinated mitigation. 
- Complete performance and feedback processes (C.I.P. and MERIT) per company guidelines for direct reports.

Qualifications 
Required Skills and Experience 
- Minimum of 5 years people‑management experience in an Equipment Maintenance Manager position. 
- Outstanding management and communication skills. 
- Experience with maintenance and calibration of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing equipment. 
- Experience implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). 
- Excellent creative problem‑solving skills. 
- English: 85 % minimum (written and spoken). 
Required Education and Training 
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. 
- Computer literate with experience using Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. 
Preferred Skills and Experience 
- Experience in the Medical Device industry and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices. 
- Experience with TPM, Lean/Six Sigma, project management. 
- Experience with calibration processes and standards. 
Working Conditions 
- Required to work onsite.
