this position plays a critical role in enhancing the ability of our organization to identify, manage, and mitigate internal and external risks. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for executing multiple internal audit projects involving operations within mexico. On occasion, you may also provide support for internal audit projects performed in belize.

audit objectives:

* to conduct thorough audits, investigations, or other initiatives that involve operational or financial processes;

* to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements;
">
* to address allegations of fraud and other irregularities;
">
* to provide recommendations for improving risk management and internal controls.

key responsibilities:
">
">
1. to develop an understanding of the audit area, including key internal and external risks;
">
2. to plan individual audits, ensuring a thorough understanding of the audit objectives and scope;
">
3. to conduct walk-throughs of key processes and capture and analyze key financial and operational data;
">
4. to execute tests of controls and transactions and evaluate results;
">
5. to ensure workpapers are created that appropriately support the evaluation of processes and the testing of transactions and controls.

critical skills and qualifications:
">
">
* bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, management, or a related field;
">
* progress towards certification as a cpa, cia, cfa, or cfe or a similar certification;
">
* 3+ years of experience as an auditor or industry experience in a key process;
">
* milling, manufacturing, agricultural, supply chain, or financial audit experience desired;
">
* fluency in both spanish and english from a verbal and written perspective.

mexico city, mexico; frequent travel to mill, agricultural, and warehouse locations near cordoba, veracruz.
