job description
to provide post order technical sales support to designated oem customers (and the external key account manager who support them) from receipt of customer purchase order through to delivery, and any post-delivery related issues. The workload is primarily wet seals, wet seal systems and couplings
specific functions, activities and responsibilities (not limited to the following
* management of the customer purchase order from receipt into john crane, through to delivery of product, for all product range. Delivery includes both physical product and all requested documentation and certification dossiers.
* completion of contract review and processing of the order into the erp system
* to manage customer expectations on the life cycle of their purchase order, providing changes in scope and delivery schedules in a timely manner.
* to deal professionally with the total needs of the customer, taking the full responsibility and accountability to ensure they always experience exceptional customer service.
* manage and expedite drawing and document approvals with the customer
* to be able to understand the technicalities of our customers requirement (for any of the above-mentioned products) and coordinate support on how to fit / adapt our product into their equipment and advise best practice for its reliable and safe use.
* to manage requests for the engineering drawings and then to be able to clearly specify any change to these designs and/or a detail component drawing utilising the preferred systems within the company.
* liaison with other intercompany departments as required.
* change management of all amendments to purchase order scope with both internal supply chain and the customer, ensuring all variations are captured and addressed.
* coordination of all certification and documentation, ensuring requirements are translated to the supplying plant, and scope of customer supply achieved correctly. Also, coordination of all itp/scope requirements e.g. Witness points, with both the supplying plant and the customer.
* to represent the customer’s needs and feedback any issue to the company in a constructive manner with a willingness to assist in any resolution / improvement in our service levels.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electromechanical, industrial, or chemical engineering preferred)
* english skills: advanced b3
desirable experience
* typical industrial background 2 to 5 years of experience in various process industries including oil and gas, chemical, petroleum, petrochemical industries etc., or in industries supplying equipment like pumps, compressors, seals or associated auxiliary equipment's to such process industries.
* good hands-on experience in design, installation, or maintenance of products like mechanical seals or seal support systems will be an added advantage.
* working experience in international environment and knowledge of foreign cultures will be advantageous
* ability identify product lines and answer basic technological questions, in certain locations.
* strong verbal, written, problem solving, and organization skills required.
* experience in planning, materials and scheduling as needed.
technical knowledge and skills
* technical knowledge of or ability to learn sap system or similar erp
* product and supply chain process knowledge or ability to learn about product portfolio & product codes.
* excellent ms office backgroundability to read blue prints, identify product lines and answer basic technological questions, in certain locations.
* strong verbal, written, problem solving, and organization skills required.
