we are seeking a seasoned accounting professional to fill the role of regional accounting director. This position is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and operational treasury activities.
key responsibilities
* oversight of ar function in close coordination with credit and collections department, ensuring timely and accurate collections while maintaining portfolio health.
* coordination with other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication regarding ar activities.
* notification of significant ar issues to business unit managers.
* monitoring of ar activities and workflows to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies.
* management of ap process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
* review and approval of payment runs, ensuring appropriate documentation and authorization.
* supervision of ap team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments.
* preparation and review of ap aging reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
* oversight of resolution of complex issues with vendors and employees related to invoices, payments, and expense reports.
* assistance in development and execution of ap strategies to support company's financial goals.
* management of ap-related projects and initiatives as needed.
* supervision of payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely payment of wages.
* review and approval of payroll files, ensuring staff's monthly-bi-weekly payroll is accurate.
* ensurance of compliance with all relevant labor laws and payroll tax regulations.
* ensurance of compliance with internal controls, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements in all payroll activities.
* review of payroll reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
* analysis of payroll data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for process improvements.
* assistance in development and execution of payroll strategies to support company's financial goals.
* oversight of daily cash management activities, including cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
* ensurance of compliance with internal controls and policies related to cash handling.
* review of all banks, ensuring files are fully reconciled and include appropriate supporting documentation.
* review of group's cash pooling accounts, ensuring files are fully reconciled, interest invoices are issued to icos and appropriate supporting documentation are included.
* ensurance of compliance with gaap and company policies and procedures.
* oversight of preparation of audit documentation and support external and internal audit processes related to ar, ap, and payroll.
* provision of necessary information and schedules to external auditors during annual financial audit.
* assistance regional controller in financial reporting and analysis, identifying trends, and providing recommendations for improving financial performance.
* work with various departments to develop accurate budgets and forecasts that align with strategic goals.
* leadership, mentorship, and management of a team of accountants across the region, providing guidance and training to ensure team's success.
* conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and provide opportunities for professional development.
* coordination with local finance teams and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including vat, income tax, and other statutory filings as required by each country.
* monitor and ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations across the region.
* identification of opportunities for improving financial processes and systems within the region, driving efficiencies and automation where possible.
* work closely with it and finance teams to implement and maintain accounting software systems, ensuring that financial data is accurately captured and reported.
* liaise with global finance team to ensure alignment with global financial strategies, policies, and reporting standards.
* support global finance initiatives, including system upgrades, policy rollouts, and strategic financial projects.
* support regional controller with ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as required, including m&a activities, financial restructuring, and strategic planning.
* bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
* cpa, acca, or equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
1. minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role overseeing multiple countries or business units.
2. strong knowledge of gaap/ifrs and local accounting regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
3. experience in a multinational company is highly desirable.
4. excellent financial reporting and analytical skills.
5. strong leadership and team management abilities.
6. proficient in accounting software systems (jd edwards, sap, oracle, or similar erp systems).
7. advanced microsoft excel skills.
8. strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work effectively across cultures and geographies.
9. ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
10. fluency in english is required.
