you will be supporting the development of accurate and reliable cost estimates, which are essential to guiding strategic decisions for clients and internal stakeholders alike.

s&p global commodity insights is the leading provider of clean technology & renewables research and insight and is currently looking to recruit a senior analyst with strong modeling skills to support its rapidly growing team, which is located across various locations in europe, asia, and the americas.
responsibilities and impact
the successful candidate will apply strong industry knowledge to cost modeling across multiple low carbon technologies, as well as proven analytical and communication skills.
the role involves building valuable relationships with existing and potential clients and producing highly optimized models that improve the cost analysis the team uses to support critical business decisions.
responsibilities:
support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of global cost models for low carbon technologies.
support broader modelling initiatives for the technologies and supply chain team with the energy transition, sustainability and services (etss) team.
collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop more granular and interactive modelling tools.
present findings and strategic insights to senior leadership, project teams, and clients in a clear, actionable manner.
stay up to date with energy technology trends, cost drivers, and market dynamics to inform model updates.
what we're looking for
basic required qualifications:
the ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience and advanced knowledge of the clean energy technology industry and strong modeling skills.
prior experience in a research analyst role is highly valued.
bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, finance, or a related field.
fluent in
english
and spanish.
2+ years of experience in cost modelling, energy systems analysis, or financial modelling within the energy sector.
demonstrated expertise in calculating levelized costs and other financial modelling methodologies.
experience using modelling in python, excel vba, power query and data visualization tools.
strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
excellent communication and leadership skills.
ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and effectively integrate team feedback.

familiarity with low-carbon technologies and global energy supply chains.
understanding of policy and regulatory factors influencing energy markets.
