we are seeking a detail-oriented project accountant with strong experience in construction accounting to support financial operations across multiple projects.
this role requires someone who is highly organized, experienced in industry-specific processes, and comfortable working with project teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.
key responsibilities
* manage project-level accounting, including budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting
* prepare and process aia pay applications and track progress billing
* monitor project costs, job costing, and variance analysis
* maintain accurate financial records in quickbooks
* collaborate with project managers to ensure budgets and financials are aligned
* handle accounts payable and receivable related to construction projects
* reconcile accounts and ensure timely month-end close processes
* support compliance with contract terms and financial requirements
requirements
* proven experience in construction accounting
* strong knowledge of aia billing and pay applications
* hands-on experience with quickbooks
* experience using procore or similar construction management software
* strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting
* high attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* fluent in english (spoken and written)
nice to have
* experience working with u.s.-based construction companies
* familiarity with lien waivers, retainage, and subcontractor billing
* advanced excel skills
