Overview
this position inspects compliance with part 213 (monitoring standards), protects the track that does not comply with appropriate corrective measures, and protects trains and crews. The role promotes safety with the crew through work audits and safety meetings. It requires highly developed specialized skills to complete a wide range of tasks and procedures, generates innovative solutions to complex processes or problems, and proposes improvements to processes. The work delivered directly impacts the quality of team output to agreed timescales, service levels, or similar metrics.
responsibilities
* inspects tracks after repairs are made.
* responds to trouble calls and conducts special visual inspections after adverse weather alerts.

* high school diploma or equivalent
* minimum five (5) years of relevant operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
* specialist knowledge of one or more disciplines of railroad operations
* as a requirement of the "secretaria de comunicaciones y transporte" must have and maintain valid the lff (licencia federal ferroviaria) for the duration of employment with kansas city southern.

* works outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.
* shift work is an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, working various shifts as assigned. Schedule assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays.
