The role:
the project engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing capex and operational investment projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, cost, and timeline requirements. This role works cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to deliver projects aligned with business needs and company standards.
what you’ll do:
* develop business cases and investment plans for capex projects based on internal customer and supply chain needs.
* define project scope, schedule, and budget (scope, time, and cost).
* coordinate and supervise engineering activities with subject matter experts (smes).
* plan, execute, and control capex and plant investment projects.
* review engineering drawings and multidisciplinary designs (civil, electrical, mechanical).
* define scopes for rfqs and review quotations and estimates.
* select and manage contractors based on cost, quality, and delivery.
* supervise safe execution of contractor activities within the plant.
* manage construction schedules, quality, and progress tracking.
* place requisitions, follow up on purchase orders, and track equipment shipments.
* coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, and startup.
* manage project documentation and validate invoices and cash flow.
* present project status to management and solve execution issues.
* ensure compliance with quality, environmental, safety, and health systems.
