position summary:
we are seeking a highly skilled trade compliance professional to oversee and ensure compliance with all mexican trade regulations, including immex and prosec programs. This role will support the import/export process, assist in customs planning, and handle the intricacies of these programs to optimize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
key responsibilities:
* compliance management: ensure the proper preparation and filing of all necessary documentation for immex program activities, including customs declarations, invoices, and certificates of origin.
* import/export process: verify that all imports and exports under the immex program are processed and cleared in accordance with mexican customs regulations.
* day-to-day operations: support day-to-day compliance with immex program requirements, including inventory control, reporting, and reconciliation of temporary imports.
* process improvement: continuously evaluate and improve immex processes and practices to ensure they are efficient, cost-effective, and fully compliant with mexican trade laws.
* optimization opportunities: identify opportunities for optimizing duty savings and other benefits available under the program.
* classification and analysis: accurately classify products and perform regular reviews of hs classifications to ensure accuracy.
* global parts database: maintain a global parts database.
* supplier documentation: perform thorough analysis of supplier documentation and product details to assess country of origin.
* country of origin assignment: develop and implement strategies to automate or streamline country of origin assignment processes, while maintaining full compliance with trade laws.
* usmca rules of origin: analyze and verify product eligibility under the usmca.
* collaboration and communication: collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper understanding and implementation of usmca rules of origin.
* pedimento audits: conduct pedimento audits to verify compliance with all import/export transactions.
* broker requests: respond to broker requests and support with review of performance against kpis.
* export paperwork: create and manage the export paperwork required for shipments.
* record keeping: maintain accurate and organized records of all trade compliance activities and documentation.
* best practices: assist the trade compliance manager in implementing best practices to drive productivity and streamline opportunities.
* trade compliance goals: work cross-functionally with global and regional teams to carry out trade compliance goals and assignments.
