at r2, we believe that small and medium businesses are the productive engine of society. Small and medium businesses (smbs) make up over 90% of companies in latin america, yet they face a trillion-dollar credit gap. Our mission is to unlock smbs’ potential by providing financial solutions that are tailored to their needs. We are reimagining the financial infrastructure of latin america - where smbs financial needs are satisfied without ever having to go to a bank.
R2 enables platforms in latin america to embed financial services that smbs can then leverage (starting with revenue-based financing and buy now pay later for business customers). We are a tight knit team coming from organizations such as google, amazon, nubank, uber, mckinsey & co., mercado libre, globant, j.p. Morgan, clip, and ualá. as a *product engineer*, you will:
- own the product from ideation to execution, ensuring its success and continuous improvement.
- spend time coding while also engaging with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and feedback.
- balance pragmatic solutions with technical excellence to meet user needs effectively.
- collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to align on product goals and priorities.
- conduct user research, analyze usage data, and keep an eye on competitive products.
- develop prototypes, run experiments, and iterate quickly to enhance the product.
- communicate product roadmaps and gather feedback from both users and internal teams.
*who you are*
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on product-centric roles or close collaboration with product teams.
- full-stack experience, capable of executing complete projects independently.
- proficiency in python, javascript, html, css, and the react framework.
- experience working with product analytics and martech tools, from implementation and maintenance to interpretation.
- strong problem-solving skills with a user-first mindset.
- excellent communication skills in both english and spanish.
- ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the product's success.
- passionate about fintech and the impact of financial solutions on smbs in latin america.
- familiarity with apis and the ability to create internal tools or products using external apis.
- experience with sql for data querying and analysis.
*nice to have*
- data engineering background or experience interpreting large amounts of data to gather insights and make decisions.
- familiarity with crm and martech tools such as zoho, amplitude, mixpanel, segment, posthog, or similar.
- previous experience in fintech and startups, with a hands-on, proactive approach.
