What you will do
* drive drug discovery programs by developing and applying innovative ai/ml models.
* collaborate with experimental scientists to connect computational predictions with lab experiments; support hypothesis testing and iterate between modeling and experimental results.
* lead development of scientific foundation models integrating molecular design and biological data to enable decision-making across the drug discovery pipeline.
* publish findings in top-tier venues and represent lilly within the ai4science community.
* partner with mlops and data engineering to transition prototypes into scalable tools; learn guidelines for reusable, reliable ai/ml solutions.
minimum qualifications
* phd in computer science, machine learning, statistics, computational chemistry, computational biology, physics, or a scientific field.
* first-author publications in high-impact journals or top-tier ml conferences.
* experience with modern ai/ml frameworks and molecular-data architectures (e.g., gnns, transformers).
preferred qualifications
- ability to translate chemistry/biology problems into ml formulations.
- experience collaborating with lab scientists to drive iterative experimentation and model refinement.

- anticipated wage: $151,500–$244,200; company bonus eligibility (based on performance).
