logistics and inventory supervisor (mex)
highly organized and technically proficient shipping, receiving, and inventory control supervisor to manage end-to-end shipping/receiving operations within our manufacturing facility. This hybrid role combines leadership responsibilities across shipping, receiving, and inventory control to ensure materials and finished goods are moved, stored, and accounted for accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in logistics coordination, inventory systems, and team leadership within a manufacturing environment.
key tasks & responsibilities (essential functions)
shipping & receiving operations
manage all inbound and outbound logistics, including receipt, inspection, documentation, and shipment scheduling.
ensure compliance with internal quality standards and international shipping/import-export regulations.
supervise daily shipping and receiving operations to support production and customer delivery schedules.
coordinate with freight carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to optimize logistics flow.
ensure complete and accurate shipping documentation (e.g., bols, packing lists, customs declarations).
lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for discrepancies, damage, or delivery issues.
inventory control
lead cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy reconciliations to maintain inventory accuracy.
ensure proper material handling and real-time transaction logging, including lot/batch traceability.
collaborate with planning, production, and procurement to align inventory with operational needs.
identify causes of inventory variances and apply corrective and preventive measures.
team leadership & process improvement
supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse and logistics personnel.
ensure adherence to sops, safety protocols, and 5s/lean practices.
optimize warehouse layout, storage methods, and material flow for efficiency and space utilization.
promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
preferred skills and experience
4+ years of experience in warehouse operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
proficiency with erp/wms systems (e.g., sap, oracle, netsuite, microsoft dynamics).
strong knowledge of shipping/receiving best practices, inventory management principles, and material flow in a manufacturing setting.
strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
may require occasional overtime, weekends, or shift flexibility to meet operational demands.
