Overview
the facilities engineer is responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of the assigned facilities equipment and installations, including but not limited to: air compressors, air conditioning units, swamp coolers, exhaust fans, fire suppression system, building and grounds, gates, alarm system, water heaters, space heaters, furniture, illumination system, etc.
responsibilities
* daily walkthroughs by the building to verify everything is operating as expected.
* inspection and troubleshooting for:
o compressed air system, a/c units, swamp coolers, restrooms issues, emergency generators, electrical installations, etc.
o emergency generator
o fire protection system
o electrical power substation and transformers
* conducts periodic inspections to ensure 5s’s and safety conditions are maintained in the building.
* coordinates the activities of facilities contractors, ensuring safety compliance and issuing proper work permits, etc.
* communicates with internal customers verbally and in writing and supports them with facilities they may have as furniture rearrangement, office relocation, equipment repairs, cleaning, etc.
* ensures building is maintained according to facilities standards.
* ensures compliance with all preventative maintenance program work orders.
* ensure critical equipment of the building is well maintained and ready to work.
* facilities project management. This position is responsible for defining scope of work of projects, obtaining quotes, validating them, defining schedule, etc. for all the needs involving facilities support to the building.
* responsible for purchasing spare parts as needed, and reconciling invoices for proper payment.
* knowledge of cmms (computerized maintenance management software) and ms office.
* ensure hazardous waste is managed properly and in compliance with applicable regulations.
* collaborates to ensure compliance with emergency response plan as required by regulations.
* monitor and coordinate scheduled inspections on all company owned equipment.
* using cost benefit analysis to develop cost efficient systems for specific projects.
* performing/developing quality control procedures to make sure that all facility systems are operational and efficient.
* interacting and working with wide range of people to include management, vendors, clients, and it staff.
qualifications
minimum qualifications:
* bachelor’s degree
* demonstrated technical/management background on facilities maintenance: (minimum 3-5 years of experience)
* a/c units
* air compressors
* electrical installations
* general building repairs
* ability to learn quickly.
* excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
* team oriented
* fluent in english
