About the role
we are seeking an experienced integration developer to join cvs health's ddat organization supporting aetna integrations. This is a contract position focused on building and maintaining enterprise-grade integration solutions using ibm app connect enterprise (ace) and java/spring boot technologies.
key responsibilities
* design, develop, and maintain integration flows using ibm app connect enterprise (ace) 11/12/13 across multiple messaging protocols
* build and support microservices using java, spring framework, spring boot, and spring batch
* design and implement restful apis and web services following openapi/swagger specifications
* write and optimize complex sql queries and stored procedures
* handle and transform data across json, xml, and fixed length formats
* participate in ci/cd pipelines using github and jenkins
* collaborate within a safe/agile team environment
* leverage ai-assisted development tools (github copilot, cursor ai) to accelerate delivery
* support cloud-based integration patterns on aws, azure, or gcp
required qualifications
* 5–8 years of it experience with a strong focus on integration and middleware development
* primary – ibm ace 11/12/13: proficient in ibm app connect enterprise with hands-on development across multiple protocols (mq, rest, soap, etc.)
* secondary – java/spring boot: solid development skills including spring boot and spring batch
* api development: experience designing restful apis with yaml, swagger, and openapi specs
* database management: strong sql skills including complex queries and stored procedures
* data formats: proficiency with json, xml, and fixed length data formats
* testing tools: experience with rfhutil, postman, and/or soapui
* ci/cd: familiarity with github and jenkins for ci/cd workflows
* methodologies: working knowledge of safe/agile methodologies
* cloud platforms: exposure to at least one of aws, azure, or gcp
* ai tools: comfort using github copilot or cursor ai within intellij idea or vs code
preferred qualifications
* healthcare industry experience, particularly with payer/insurance integrations
* prior experience with aetna or cvs health systems
* familiarity with hl7 or fhir standards
