mmr consulting is seeking an experienced operations manager to oversee controls engineers & robot programmers who are supporting high-speed industrial automation projects across north america. This role involves managing engineers and customer projects involving programming, integration and commissioning of plc and robotic systems for advanced manufacturing systems (i.e. automotive, heavy machinery, supply chain, etc.). The individual should also have a technical background in controls engineering / robotics, in order to successfully manage the staff & projects.
the candidate would periodically visit client sites to check in on projects and staff.
management responsibilities

* maintain client relationships, manage contracts

technical responsibilities
* design and develop plc, hmi, scada automation systems
* program and troubleshoot allen bradley, siemens, omron, mitsubishi plcs, and industrial robotic and automation cells.
* perform system debugging and optimization
* support equipment installation and startup
* develop and maintain programs using:
o rslogix / studio 5000
o tia portal
* configure and support scada systems including ignition
* commission and debug automated equipment on-site
* integrate robotics, motion control, and safety systems
* support customer startups and production launches
* troubleshoot electrical and controls systems
required skills
* strong experience with plc programming and/or robot programming
* plc systems experience:
o allen bradley
o siemens
o omron
o mitsubishi
* scada and hmi experience
* experience with ignition scada
* experience with one or more of the following robotic systems:
o fanuc
o abb
o kuka
o kawasaki
o motoman (yaskawa)
* experience in high-speed automation environments
* industry experience preferred
* experience working with:
o automotive oems (gm, tesla, ford)
o tier 1 automotive suppliers
o pharmaceutical manufacturing
o food processing automation
o high-speed production lines
requirements
* willingness to travel 30-40% to usa and canada
* ability to work on customer sites across north america
* strong team leadership skills
* strong knowledge of plcs, scada and robots
* excellent communication skills, able to communicate with customers, attend business development meeting.
* engineering or technical degree preferred
* work authorization
