We are hiring an enterprise project manager. Canonical's mission is to streamline and accelerate the adoption of open source across the entire global enterprise technology market. Our customers embrace the canonical approach to open source for complex projects on bare metal, on the cloud, and at the edge. Canonical enterprise project managers are responsible for ensuring project success through owning, driving, communicating and respectfully engaging all stakeholders, valuing integrity and accountability.
Location: this is a globally remote role.
The role entails

ensuring programs and projects are delivered within the schedule, scope, cost, budget and resource expectations
identifying key technical and project risks and issues and actively put mitigating actions in place
maintaining strong customer focus and working with all key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes
conducting regular status meetings and business reviews with customers and providing direction when needed
managing the delivery schedule of critical third‑party deliverables for the project
advocating to customers the appropriate technologies from canonical's portfolio
driving project success while managing risks

what we are looking for in you

experience in enterprise it programs, process improvement, and software engineering project management
excellent written and verbal communication skills in english
experience leading cross‑cultural, remote and global project teams and customers
strong negotiation and influencing skills
strong communication skills
deep understanding of linux, open source, and cloud technologies
bachelor's degree in a stem discipline
project management certification, preferably pmp or equivalent certification
agile project management certification, preferably scrum master or equivalent certification
ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Key responsibilities

own and manage all customer communications throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring transparency and satisfaction
schedule and facilitate internal kickoff calls, onboarding the team and customers for project delivery
create and manage the lifecycle of projects using jira boards, ensuring all tasks are tracked and completed on time
provide regular project updates to leadership, customers, and aws sellers, ensuring stakeholders are informed
review and approve delivery team timesheets to ensure accurate billing and project tracking
update allocation boards for teams in clockify, ensuring efficient resource management
drive delivery for successful outcomes and customer satisfaction as the project owner
keep the project within budget, ensuring timely delivery, and achieve csat scores of 8 and above
manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all are delivered successfully
conduct project retrospectives as needed to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous improvement
recognize changes in project scope and facilitate the creation of change orders to manage project changes effectively
track project budgets and timelines, ensuring financial and temporal goals are met
maintain a risk register and develop mitigation plans to address potential project risks proactively

qualifications

minimum of 2 years of experience managing aws professional services engagements
aws cloud practitioner certification preferred
certified scrum master (csm) preferred
experience working with jira for project management
strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams
proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholders
familiarity with clockify or similar time‑tracking tools is a plus

project manager - ubuntu embedded systems
as a project manager for canonical's devices business, this role is responsible for the coordination and completion of large complex customer‑facing projects, overseeing all aspects of project delivery and acting as the primary delivery liaison between canonical's engineering teams and canonical's customers.
You will be managing the projects that involve the delivery of ubuntu images on a wide variety of devices ranging from robots, edge gateways, and iot devices to pcs and automotive systems.
This is a high‑profile project management position where you are expected to build and maintain working relationships with team members, customers, other partners/vendors (silicon vendors, oems, odms, ihvs), and other canonical departments/teams.
Location: this role will be based remotely in the americas and/or emea regions.
The role entails

managing projects through their complete life cycle and ensuring that the overall goals for both canonical and the client are met
successfully delivering engineering professional services for assigned projects
working with engineering teams on custom board enablement and delivery of ubuntu images to the customers
assisting in the development of project statements of work
drafting and maintaining project‑specific schedules/project plans
obtaining client agreement to the project schedule and agreed‑upon work items
ensuring projects are delivered within the time/resources/scope expectations
managing project risk mitigation and plans
driving technical issues to reach desired delivery outcomes

As a technical project manager, you will help manage, implement and ensure successful delivery of infrastructure projects primarily supporting our network engineering team. You will be responsible for driving the delivery and execution of various infrastructure initiatives for both our retail and enterprise partners. You will join a team driving to deliver exceptional results to our business partners (retail stores/fsc/distribution center/ecommerce). In this role you will directly support our directors of network engineering, and be collaborating daily with our colleagues in platform, client, cloud, information security, and database engineering.
In addition, you will:

create, track, and status project plans including: milestone schedules, scope, resource plans, budgets and cross‑functional dependencies
capture, publish, and follow up on meeting notes, action items, and other inter‑team communications
bring extensive experience with both agile and waterfall processes
execute applicable agile ceremonies
work with both it and business program owners to identify accurate resource estimates
utilize project data to make future projects more productive and cost‑efficient
