responsibilities
* engineer focused primarily on unit testing of model-based designs (simulink), responsible for building and executing test strategies across mil/sil/pil environments.
* this role is test-heavy, with secondary involvement in control model understanding and limited development support.
* the engineer ensures models are testable, verifiable, and compliant with quality standards such as iso26262.
* design and execute unit test cases for simulink models.
* review requirements for testability, completeness, and traceability.
* develop and maintain mil/sil/pil test frameworks and infrastructure.
* build test harnesses using simulink test and matlab scripting.
* validate control logic through structured simulation scenarios.
* analyze test results, identify defects, and support root cause analysis.
* collaborate with controls and system engineers to refine model/test interfaces.
* support verification strategy development and continuous improvement.
qualifications
essential
* matlab/simulink - strong proficiency required.
* simulink-based unit testing methodologies.
* test design derived from requirements.
* real-time embedded control concepts, including loop rates, state-based control logic, and initialization/reset behavior.
* understanding of model-based design workflows (mil/sil/pil).
* ability to analyze and debug control models.
preferred
* simulink test framework - test harness creation and management.
* matlab unit test framework.
* matlab scripting for automation and regression testing.
* simulink coder - understanding generated code behavior.
* experience with iso26262 functional safety processes.
* basic familiarity with embedded c/c++ for traceability to generated code.
* exposure to closed-loop simulation and plant modeling concepts.
