The technical trainer is responsible for supporting potter mexico customers in a technical capacity through conducting training sessions that enhance our customers knowledge of potter products and systems. This position will work with the sales and training teams to update literature and course materials used in presentations and training classes. Additionally, the technical trainer will help with webinars and develop training videos on installation and programming of potters life safety products to help educate our dealers, installers, and other consumers.

Essential functions

- training program development: design, develop, and update training programs and materials for various audiences, including technical staff, installers, and end-users.
- training delivery: conduct engaging and informative training sessions both in-person and virtually, ensuring participants understand technical concepts fire alarm and sprinkler systems, potter products, features, and benefits, and operational procedures.
- hands-on demonstrations: coordinate and conduct hands-on demonstrations of fire alarm and sprinkler system components and installation techniques.
- product updates and releases: educate stakeholders on new product features, updates, and enhancements through training sessions and documentation.
- feedback collection: gather feedback from training participants and stakeholders to continuously improve training programs and materials.
- technical support: provide technical support and guidance to training participants, answering questions, and troubleshooting issues related to fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
- documentation: create and maintain training documentation, including manuals, guides, and instructional videos.
- collaboration: work closely with regional sales managers, product management, technical services, engineering, and customer support teams to ensure alignment of training materials with product specifications and customer needs.
- perform other duties as assigned.

*required qualifications*
- proven experience (5+ years) as a technical trainer, preferably in the fire alarm or sprinkler systems industry.
- thorough understanding of fire alarm codes and standards (e.g., nfpa, nicet).
- proficiency in conducting training sessions and creating engaging presentations designed to educate and drive brand affinity.
- strong technical aptitude and ability to grasp complex technical concepts.
- fluent in both spanish and english.
- excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences.
- ability to travel regularly to deliver on-site training (50%). Ability to travel internationally, obtain visas, etc.

*preferred qualifications*
- bachelors degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- experience installing, servicing, and/or designing fire alarm or sprinkler systems.
- certification as a trainer or educator (e.g., ctt+).
- experience with learning management systems (lms) for training program management.
- knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
