Ethosenergy is currently seeking an operations support manager for our power plant located in altamira, tamaulipas, mx. The facility includes a 537 mw (gross) ge 7fa combined cycle power plant in gomez palacio, durango, mx, and an altamira v 1115 mw (gross) ge 7fa combined cycle power plant in altamira, tamaulipas, mx. Additionally, enertek, a 114 mw (gross) w501d5a combined cycle power plant, is also situated in altamira, mx. The site comprises two blocks of 2x1 configuration, totaling 4 cts and 2 sts, commissioned in 2006.
this position will provide management support to ensure safe, reliable, and economical operation of the facilities, aligned with site o&m agreements, pie, ppas with cfe, market, permits, regulations, and owner instructions. It reports directly to the ethosenergy regional operations director and serves as the main interface with the owner's representative. Applicants must have mexican residency, and the position offers a local benefits package.
job responsibilities
1. collaborate with facility managers to ensure safe operations and a safe work environment to mitigate risks.
2. oversee environmental reporting, testing, and compliance with permits.
3. adhere to company policies, procedures, and commitments.
4. coordinate with o&m teams for inspections and overhauls, supporting outage scheduling.
5. develop and track outage schedules.
6. participate in budget preparation (opex and capex) and maintenance planning, including variance reporting.
7. promote a productive and morale-boosting work environment.
8. optimize plant performance through resource management.
9. support recruitment, supervision, and training of staff, including safety and regulatory training programs.
10. assist in purchasing, inventory, and cost management processes.
11. prepare monthly operational reports.
12. maintain effective communication with site staff, management, labor, and the owner.
13. provide weekly project updates to ethosenergy.
14. engage with the owner to understand and meet their needs and expectations.
15. ensure compliance with the ethosenergy o&m agreement (oma).
16. submit required reports and information to the owner timely.
17. recommend plant upgrades and enhancements with cost-benefit analysis.
18. support maintenance planning and outages, providing summaries post-outage.
required skills / knowledge
* proven success in goal achievement.
* thorough understanding of power plant operations, including o&m functions.
* knowledge of chemistry related to plant operations, environmental, and water treatment programs, and regulations.
* understanding of budgets, contracts, ltsa, basic accounting, plant economics, and power markets.
* experience managing contracts with cfe and suterm.
* knowledge of mexican electrical markets.
* ability to make sound decisions in emergencies.
* proficiency in reading mechanical and electrical p&id diagrams, logic diagrams, and manuals.
* problem-solving and communication skills, with team management ability.
* knowledge of quality programs and tools.
* data analysis and interpretation skills for sound judgment.
* fluent in spanish and english, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
* computer proficiency in ms word, excel, powerpoint, and project.
* experience operating large frame gas turbines.

* bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; mba is a plus.
