Job opportunity:
we are seeking an ayudante de cocina to fill a key culinary position. As a vital member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking food, and maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
key responsibilities:
* prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food in a safe and organized manner.
* wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables to ensure optimal quality.
* measure and mix ingredients accurately to meet recipe requirements.
* cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists to deliver exceptional results.
* operate commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, to prepare a variety of dishes.
* test cooked foods to determine if they have reached a safe internal temperature.
* monitor food quality throughout the preparation process to maintain high standards.
required skills and qualifications:
* high school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in a kitchen environment is preferred.
* ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time or for an entire work shift without fatigue.
* ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping to access storage areas and equipment.
