Sr category manager raw materials reporting to: category sr. We actively engage, screen and assess talent for specific search mandates that possess the cultural attributes, technical competencies and experience to deliver value for our clients.our client our client is completing a new manufacturing facility in ciudad juarez and we have been retained to secure key leadership and functional management to support their greenfield project.job purpose tco improvement: continuously improve tco and performance to achieve the company ́s targets category procurement strategy: contribute to develop and implement the category strategy and achieve annual budgets supplier management: own the commercial relationship with designated suppliers, develop new ones, manage and solve suppliers' issues when necessary new product introduction (npis): support the development of new products kpis: understand all key figures and contribute to achieve them point of contact: "first point of contact" for all suppliers and all the company ́s plants in the assigned region backfill the head of category when required to do so (pto, etc.)main activities 1. Tco improvement (total cost of ownership): plan annual tenders, improvement projects, and negotiations calendar aligned with category and bus' priority list identify opportunities and prepare rfis/rfqs suggest and execute sourcing strategy implement price negotiations in multiple formats co-lead negotiations award; follow up supplier transitions 2. Category strategy co-develop category procurement strategy including: o scouting, risk assessment & market analysis o understand business requirements, stakeholder mapping, o design category plans, launch projects & prepare annual budget 3. Supplier management identify new potential suppliers review supplier performance periodically work on continuous improvement programs keep supplier engaged with the company to maximize results coordinate supplier work for quality issues resolution assure ndas, contracts and terms & conditions are signed and up to date 4. New revenue + business continuity + sustainability & csr support business teams to introduce new products (npis) suggests alternatives for new products monitor and understand industry trends change materials and suppliers to achieve sustainability targets monitor supplier risks and act to mitigate them 5. Kpis understand kpis input required information in sievo and ensure it is up to date follow category market intelligence co-develop annual budget 6. Point of contact be a trusted "go-to person" for all bus procurement needs of the category be the key liaison between bus and suppliers for issue's management, continuous improvement initiatives, commercial and other relevant topics initiate long and short-term initiatives with suppliers `requirements for the position must have: studies & experience: bachelor's degree in business administration, financial or technical study minimum of 5 years' of regional procurement experience experience in a large international corporate environment with multiple bu's, operating in multiple currencies and a decentralized management structure high-level user of google or microsoft applications, word, excel and powerpoint. Analytical skills, good knowledge of business analysis and costing – tco models fully fluent in spanish and english (spoken and written) basic knowledge of legal documents, able to read and interpret contracts, and involve the legal support only when necessary personality: people management skills required to interact with a broad spectrum of experience levels, skill sets, business levels and communication methods confidence to interact with upper management confidence in presenting effective communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing. Culturally savvy: understanding the cultural differences of a global company ability to build trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders to effectively influence to provide ideas and support initiatives ability focus on critical priorities experience working under tight deadlines, with financial targets comfortable working in a constant changing environment ready to be creative and resolve problems on his/her own be a strong team player, able to build trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders work requirements: available to travel up-to 20% of his/her time globally, with peaks of 30%.
