We are seeking a proactive and experienced outsource art director to join our external game development team. In this dynamic, fast-paced role, your creative vision, technical expertise, and leadership will directly influence the quality and success of our projects and partnerships. You will collaborate with world-class gaming clients and internal teams to drive artistic direction, uphold visual standards, and deliver high-quality assets across a wide range of styles and genres. Responsibilities develop comprehensive proposals: align client expectations with devoted’s expertise — create structured bids, define quality targets, and outline a step-by-step approach to executing on client requirements client communication & clarification: act as the main point of contact for clients, clarify their needs and provide creative, expert recommendations with a sense of urgency to quickly close bids client calls & technical notes: attend client calls to gather information on scope extensions or potential new projects. Provide clear technical notes to the internal team via jira to ensure smooth project execution bid collaboration: work closely with business development and the ceo to finalize bids, ensure all details are addressed, create detailed rfps for the team, and manage their progression to maintain momentum project transition: own the transition from pre-production to production, ensuring a seamless handoff of relevant information including project details, timelines, and rates pipeline management: maintain a steady pipeline of projects, ensuring ongoing visibility into status and progress of client initiatives enhance service sales: collaborate with production leads to improve the sale of tailored services, such as offering small test deliverables, refining service pitches, updating portfolios and mini-decks, and preparing templated proposals requirements 3-5 years in a similar art director, lead artist, or external development role within the video game industry demonstrated experience directing and delivering outsourced art across various styles and platforms, including detailed feedback and quality control strong understanding of game art pipelines (2d, 3d, ui/ux, animation, etc.) and the ability to communicate visual requirements clearly comfortable working with project tracking tools (e.g., jira, trello) and asset management platforms to coordinate deliveries, milestones, and feedback loops high level of responsiveness and ownership, with the ability to maintain strong client relationships and uphold devoted’s reputation for quality creative problem-solver with a collaborative mindset—able to align artistic vision with client goals and propose innovative solutions under tight timelines excellent written and verbal communication skills in english willingness to work partially within pst-est time zones to ensure alignment with clients and internal teams benefits strong and enthusiastic team — opportunity for knowledge sharing, learning, and professional self-development interesting and challenging tasks — solve diverse issues and communicate with colleagues and partners remote work with flexible hours opportunity to work with a wide range of international game production projects, with remuneration and professional development opportunities this is a remote, full-time contracted position.
