global energy transmission (get) developed and patented the distant in-flight wireless charging technology, which enables autonomous continuous drone parcel deliveries and many other drone-based services in the energy and utilities, construction, security, mapping and surveying, oil and gas, public safety, and agriculture sectors.
get was incorporated in the usa in april 2015 with hq in portland, or. In march 2024, get opened a mexican subsidiary, gloenermex, to scale up its manufacturing and r&d operations.
due to the scaling of operations, get would like to hire a highly qualified and experienced senior engineer to strengthen the engineering team. The senior engineer will report to and work closely with the ceo/cto of get.
the role
primary activities
• design of power converters and related electronic modules from concept to mass production as well as for r&d needs
• develop testing equipment (power systems and automatic systems) based on custom modules
• develop magnetic devices such as transformers, inductors
• analyze and test current technical solutions
• develop structural, functional, electrical schematics and boms
• pcb layout design or/and develop layout guidelines for layout engineer
• analyze the designs with simulation tools and calculations (spice, matlab or equivalent)
• collaborate with projects’ participants such as embedded developer, design engineer, system electrical engineer, etc.
• specify custom parts, modules and pcb’s for use in current designs
key areas of work and main projects
• testing equipment (up to 10kw) for fast and high capacitance batteries
• battery management units
• input power stage unit compliant to different power networks
• compliance to emc and fcc standards
• high performance, high current (up to 200a) detectors (synchronous rectifiers) with strict weight limitation and maximized efficiency
• high reactive power transceivers (up to 1mva transmitter, up to 120kva receiver)
• dc/ac converters for transmitter antennas (voltage-fed/current-fed inverters, multichannel/multiphase systems)
• research of coupled high q-factor resonance circuits characteristic
the candidate
key qualifications and experience
• 5+ years overall experience in analog and power electronics design
• strong knowledge of electrical engineering in electronic circuit design with analog and digital based control systems
• design of various power supplies (ac/dc, dc/ac, dc/dc converters) 2kw+ power
• design of magnetic devices such as transformers and inductors
• knowledge of emс standards
• design of power converters (including build-in emi filters) compliant to emc standards
• knowledge of control theory fundamentals and experience in feedback control designs
• knowledge of main industrial interfaces and communication protocols (usart, i2c, spi, can etc.)
• schematic capture and pcb layout design (could be cadence, altium, eagle, mentor, etc.)
• strong experience in design validation and prototyping
• good skills of analysis of designs using simulation tools (spice, matlab/simulink or equivalent)
• english - upper intermediate
will be an advantage:
• design of power systems such as ups
• design of high-power inverters for induction heating
• design of single and three phase pfcs
• design of high power ultra-high efficiency synchronous rectifiers with conversion frequencies more than 100khz.
• experience of using modern solutions based on gan and sic technologies
• experience in designing power converters with digital control system based on dsp/dsc (tms320, dspic, stm32f334 or equivalent)
• experience in design of battery management units
• knowledge of scripting and programming (c, c++, c#, python, matlab, unix etc.)
