get was incorporated in the usa in april 2015 with hq in portland, or. In march 2024, get opened a mexican subsidiary, gloenermex, to scale up its manufacturing and r&d operations.
due to the scaling of operations, get would like to hire a highly qualified and experienced cnc manufacturing engineer to strengthen the engineering team. The engineer will report to the ceo/cto of get and work closely with mechanical design engineer.
the role
primary activities
* develop and validate cnc programs tailored for company’s cnc machinery.
* lead cnc manufacturing activity: lathe and milling machines working with materials such as aluminum, steel, titanium, and carbon fiber.
* generate, verify and modify work instructions for 3, 4 and 5x machines.
* plan and specify purchases of tooling and accessories necessary for manufacturing details per drawing and specification requirements.
* take responsibility for the quality and performance of cnc manufacturing processes.
* assess cnc production time based on models/drawing/specs provided.
* conduct cnc training/knowledge share with other employees.
* ensure safety of operations/cnc manufacturing process.
* schedule and manage service and maintenance activities for cnc machinery.
* communicate with the supplier of cnc machinery in case of any issues/support required.
* continuously optimize cnc machining processes to reduce cycle times, improve quality, and scale from prototyping to full production.

the candidate
key qualifications and experience
* 3+ years overall experience in cnc manufacturing.
* excellent knowledge, skills and abilities in cnc programming language using g code.
* strong experience working with materials such as aluminum, steel, titanium, and carbon fiber.
* deep knowledge and understanding of cnc capability, functionality, and limitations.
* excellent knowledge of mastercam or similar software for g code generation/processing.
* knowledge in drawing interpretation, intermediate use of design software such as solidworks.
* solid experience setting up and operating 4-axis cnc milling centers, as well as cnc lathes equipped with y-axis and c-axis (live tooling/spindle position control).
* ability to quickly estimate complexity of the detail and its production time.
* ability to identify and required additional fixture and tools for production based on precision tolerance for a given detail.
* english - upper intermediate/advanced: you have the ability to conduct a technical conversation in english (reading, writing and speaking).
