job summary:
we are seeking an experienced and proactive *factory manager* to oversee the daily operations of our manufacturing facility in tecate, mexico. The factory manager will be responsible for leading production activities, ensuring safety and compliance, managing cost and quality objectives, and driving continuous improvement across all factory functions.
*key responsibilities*:
- oversee the end-to-end manufacturing process to ensure on-time delivery, efficiency, and quality standards.
- lead and supervise plant staff including production supervisors, engineers, maintenance, and quality control teams.
- implement and monitor production schedules, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
- ensure all operations comply with local labor laws, environmental regulations, and corporate policies.
- drive lean manufacturing practices, cost reduction, and process optimization.
- manage factory kpis, budgets, and performance metrics.
- ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards (hse).
- foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee development.
- collaborate with supply chain, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure smooth operations.
- represent the facility in audits, client visits, and corporate reporting.
*qualifications*:
- bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, business administration, or related field. Mba is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a multinational environment.
- strong knowledge of production planning, lean manufacturing, and quality systems (e.g., iso 9001, six sigma).
- fluent in spanish and english (written and spoken).
- excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- experience working with erp systems (sap preferred).
*preferred skills*:
- familiarity with maquiladora (immex) regulations and operations.
- experience in managing labor union relationships (if applicable).
- ability to lead multicultural teams and interface with international stakeholders.
pay: $1,000,000.00 - $1,075,379.00 per year
