Purpose statement: the supplier recovery manager is accountable for engaging suppliers who are regularly identified as problematic suppliers. When problematic suppliers are unable to meet plexus' dynamic supply needs, our ability to deliver product on time and at a fair price erodes. In this role, you will increase customer satisfaction by driving improved materials deliveries at our most problematic suppliers. Success will be visible through improved customer satisfaction scores, less supply shortages, fewer suppliers on weekly critical supplier reports, and quicker escalation closure times.
key job accountabilities:
- engage the problematic supplier to perform root cause analysis of the performance issue
- develop improvement plans/actions based on the results of the root cause analysis in collaboration with the supplier and internal organizational functions.
- drive improvement actions to closure with quality and speed through strong project management and tracking of performance progress.
- work collaboratively across complex organizational functions, including the global commodity management team, to improve long term supply delivery risks to ensure continuity of supply and customer satisfaction.
additional accountabilities:
- interface with plexus' customer management and customer director teams and functions within supply chain to identify customers' needs and support their supply chain gaps.
- travel will be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated up to 70%).
- understand the current component market conditions and effectively communicate it with plexus and our customers.
- proactively develop supplier relationships that result in plexus achieving availability of supply in all market conditions.

education/experience qualifications:
- a minimum of a bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred.
- seven (7) years of related experience is preferred; five (5) or more years is highly desirable.
- experience within various commodity families such as interconnects, passives and electromechanical (ip&e), semiconductors, and printed circuit boards (pcb), hydraulics, robotics, thin
- film transistor displays, micro-electronics, etc.
an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
other qualifications:
- proven negotiations skills and ability to influence without direct authority
- hands-on knowledge of continuous improvement methods & tools
- familiarity with quality management systems & certifications, including iso 9001
- demonstrated project management expertise
- ability to communicate, influence and negotiate at all levels within an organization
- advanced written and verbal communication skills are required.
- able to make sound, logical and reasonable decisions with mínimal guidance.
- previous experience in materials management, sourcing, or procurement
- must embrace and work with cross functional departments and cultures
- intermediate computer skills are required.
work environment: the work setting should consist of an office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a low noise level.
