Position Summary:
Manage Supplier’s product and process evaluation regarding to the compliance according to the requirements of BW and our Customer.
Responsibilities:
- Work together with suppliers to develop and implement best practices to improve the defect prevention and reduction in variation and waste.
- Manage and coordinate suppliers on PPM improvement, problem solving, cost recovery due to quality issues and supplier’s warranty indicators,
- Report of KPIs in order to adhere to BorgWarner ETTS goals.
- Solve production quality concerns through effective problem-solving methodologies including: --*Containment actions (Material identification, Material certification or re work, etc.) *Root cause analysis (5 Whys, Ishikawa diagram, etc.) *Permanent Corrective Actions evaluation and Effectiveness verification. *Cost recovery for all scrap, internal and third-party sorting activities.
- Assure, keep track and communicate PPAP timing to the team members.
- Responsible that PPAP requirements are met and make sure the documentation is up to date in the assigned commodities.
- Conduct Supplier Quality System Audits on site to meet BW and/or Customer’s specific Quality expectations/requirements.
- Conduct Supplier Audits of Implemented Corrective Actions Plans, Special Characteristics and SPC Charts, etc.
- Work closely with Suppliers to make improvements in processes in order to eliminate waste and drive non-value-added cost out of the supplier's system.
- Review and make disposition on Supplier PPAP submissions.
Job Profile & Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical degree and experience.
- Desirable minimum 5 years of experience in technical quality support, interaction with different levels of management of clients.
- Desirable minimum 5 years of experience in Automotive, Automotive Systems, or technical field is required.
- Able to demonstrate ability to navigate complex organizational matrix and effective communication skills.
- Trained Auditor (IATF16949 preferred)
- Strong understanding and experience of working to IATF16949 and ISO9000 standards.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of core quality tools including Process control plans, process flow diagrams, FMEA, MSA, SPC. (Preferred)
- Product and process knowledge of Manufacturing to Automotive tolerances (preferred).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (preferred).
- Availability to travel.
- Proficient, experienced and knowledgeable APQP processes and PPAP requirements. (Preferred)
- Strong Statistical and analytical proficiency. (Desirable)
- Proficient of automotive problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa analysis, Six Sigma, etc.) required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical software such as Minitab, Infinity, or, equivalent system
