We are looking for a precision-focused optical technician to support aura development in guadalajara and future installations globally. This is a hands-on role focused on development support, assembly, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and site readiness for optics-heavy instrument systems.
the ideal candidate has strong microscopy experience, ideally biological microscopy, and can work across optics, mechanics, electronics, and basic software tooling to keep systems buildable, serviceable, and repeatable across sites.
key responsibilities
* support development, assembly, alignment, calibration, testing, and maintenance of aura optical and imaging systems.
* troubleshoot issues involving microscopy, image quality, illumination, focus, alignment, cameras, calibration routines, and hardware integration.
* support installation, commissioning, maintenance, and field troubleshooting at sites in mexico, the us, and globally.
* work with systems, mechanical, electrical, software, and operations teams to resolve cross-functional integration issues.
* document build changes, maintenance actions, calibration records, and verification results.
* help improve serviceability, repeatability, and setup robustness after shipping, rebuild, or site transfer.
required qualifications
* hands-on experience with microscopy systems.
* experience with optical assembly, alignment, calibration, and troubleshooting.
* basic electronics troubleshooting capability.
* basic applied software skills for scripting, diagnostics, configuration, or internal tooling.
* willingness and ability to travel.
* fluent in both english and spanish.
