general function
the transportation sr. Analyst coordinates and monitors all domestic and international shipments to ensure on-time, compliant, and cost-efficient delivery of goods. This role manages communication between carriers, warehouses, and internal teams, analyze transportation data, and supports continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics network. The transportation sr analyst ensures accurate documentation, carrier performance tracking, and adherence to company and regulatory standards to maintain operational excellence in all shipping and receiving processes.
major duties and responsibilities
* coordinates export, import, and local shipments including carrier communication, pickups, and deliveries.
* tracks international and domestic freight in collaboration with the u.s. logistics team.
* monitors gps systems and delivery schedules to ensure on-time performance.
* manages and controls return boxes due to customer complaints or damages.
* oversees container inventory within the plant and ensures proper allocation.
* requests and reviews transportation quotes for new routes and cost optimization.
* prepares and maintains freight and performance reports/metrics.
* reviews carrier invoices and resolves billing discrepancies.
* coordinates internal material movements within the plant.
* collects and verifies proofs of delivery (pods).
* tracks and follows up on claims with carriers.
* maintains and updates truck logs for inbound and outbound shipments.
* keeps shipment lists current, monitoring crossing and delivery times.
* requests ctpat inspections and ensures compliance with security requirements.
* manages and controls seal purchases and inventory.
* generates loading orders and prepares required shipping documentation.
* delivers export documentation to relevant parties (e.g., oakley, gusa).
* creates bills of lading (bol) and arrival notices.
* issues shipment approval prior to unit departures.
* confirms fda releases for deliveries to carriers.
* develops manual return guides for reverse logistics operations.
* performs all other duties as assigned.
basic qualifications
* bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, international business, or related field.
* 3+ year(s) of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
* strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
* excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* proficient in microsoft office suite, particularly excel (data analysis and reporting).
* ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
* knowledge of logistics documentation (bol, pod, ctpat, customs paperwork).
* strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
preferred qualifications
* experience using sap or other transportation management systems.
* experience with data visualization tool (i.e.: powerbi, tableau, access)
* familiarity with import/export regulations, ctpat requirements, and fda clearance processes.
* understanding of carrier performance management and cost control.
* bilingual proficiency (english/spanish).
