Description
to provide audit services within supply chain food safety business unit. This position is responsible for evaluating assigned suppliers' compliance with relevant standards and pre-determined criteria for food safety and quality; producing reports detailing audit findings; communicating those results to the supplier as well as nsf team members.
responsibilities
* schedule and conduct the full range of assigned food safety & quality audits.
* conduct special supplier visits to investigate product failures and verify the implementation of corrective actions.
* develop effective work plans for the completion of assigned audits.
* establish and maintain effective communication with program representatives and project managers as it relates to client-specific concerns affecting plants assigned to the auditor.
* perform other duties as requested.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree.
* five (5) years food processing experience (food plant experience in a responsible position related to food safety).
* qualified as a consultant or auditor in at least one of the gfsi benchmarked standards, (iso 22000, fssc 22000, sqf, brc, and/or global gap)
* in-depth working knowledge of the manufacture of food and allied products.
* ability to perform audits in more than one program area and/or ability to train auditors.
* ability to work independently from remote location.
* excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
* must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation.
* ability to maintain a valid and current passport and have the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
* proficient with microsoft office software, i.e. Word, excel, powerpoint, outlook, etc.
