position summary
the senior accounting coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating the company's accounting and tax activities, ensuring compliance with us gaap, ifrs (niif), and mexican tax regulations.
this position plays a key role in monthly financial closing processes, external and internal audits, tax compliance, financial reporting, internal controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
the role requires strong analytical capabilities, advanced technical accounting knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in english with corporate and external stakeholders.
general responsibilities
coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
ensure compliance with us gaap, ifrs (niif), and local statutory requirements.
lead accounting and tax compliance processes.
support internal and external audits.
analyze financial results, variances, and balance sheet accounts.
coordinate fixed assets accounting and capital project tracking.
strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
collaborate with corporate finance, operations, purchasing, and external advisors.
support continuous improvement and automation initiatives within finance.
qualifications
bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
minimum 5–8 years of experience in accounting and tax.
strong knowledge of us gaap, ifrs (niif), and mexican tax regulations.
experience in manufacturing or automotive industry preferred.
advanced english skills (written and verbal) required.
experience working with erp systems (sap, qad, oracle, plex, etc.) preferred.
strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
advanced excel skills required.
experience coordinating audits and working with external auditors.
high level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
strong communication and leadership abilities.

prepare and review monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes.
ensure accurate financial statement preparation in compliance with us gaap and ifrs.
prepare and review tax schedules and supporting documentation.
coordinate compliance with mexican tax regulations (sat, vat/iva, income tax, diot, etc.).
support transfer pricing and statutory reporting requirements.
coordinate external audit requests and provide supporting documentation.
review fixed assets records, depreciation schedules, and capitalization policies. Analyze inventory transactions, cost variances, and manufacturing accounting impacts.
monitor account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
support implementation and monitoring of internal controls.
assist in cash flow analysis and treasury-related activities as required.
prepare management reports and financial analyses for leadership review.
coordinate compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures.
support erp improvements and process standardization initiatives.
provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
participate in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis.
