Job purpose
implement customer documentation for hardware and software products. Work closely with product development teams to research and understand technical information about the product to write customer documentation for the appropriate audience.
work directly with new products as support under guidance from the packaging engineer.
duties and responsibilities
* write a variety of documentation materials (guides, manuals, errata cards, labels, etc.)
* interact with product packaging (design, update, test, etc.)
* create documentation in a variety of media (hardcopy, print packages, web files, etc.)
* participate in documentation reviews to get approvals by other functions.
* work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, quality engineers, regulatory engineers, product management and isc teams.
* learn and test new technology for product development and documentation.
* modify and create line drawings, renders and pictures to enhance understanding of the documentation.
* communicate with off-site printers and procurement teams.
* provide copy editing support to other writers in technical publications.
* liaise with production sites regarding documentation & packaging.
* design, test documents and implement packaging for pmc products.
qualifications/ knowledge
education / qualifications:
* industrial designer (university finished, full time intern is needed)
knowledge:
* english language (advanced writing level).
* adobe (framemaker, illustrator, photoshop, indesign, acrobat).
* microsoft office suite.
