flora farms is a 25-acre organic working farm in the foothills of the sierra de la laguna mountains in san jose del cabo, mexico. The farm features flora's field kitchen, the farm bar, flora farms grocery, the shoppes at flora farms, culinary cottages & the haylofts, and the farm spa. Flora's field kitchen offers handmade food using farm-fresh ingredients, with a menu that is seasonal and includes permanent classics. All meats served at flora's field kitchen come from a nearby 150-acre ranch where animals are humanely raised without hormones or antibiotics.
role description
this is a full-time, on-site role located in san josé del cabo, bcs, for a cook at flora farms. The cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality, seasonal dishes using ingredients sourced from the farm. Day-to-day tasks include meal preparation, cooking, ensuring food quality and presentation, collaborating with kitchen staff, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Additionally, the cook will follow health and safety standards and contribute to menu development with innovative ideas.
qualifications
* culinary skills including meal preparation, cooking, and food presentation
* experience with seasonal menu planning and using fresh, locally sourced ingredients
* teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well with kitchen staff
* knowledge of health and safety standards in the kitchen
* strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean workspace
* creativity and innovation in developing new menu ideas
* experience in organic and sustainable cooking practices is a plus
* culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
* excellent verbal communication skills in both spanish and english are beneficial
