What you will do?
job scope & purposeas a buyer iii in our organization, you will be responsible for leading the procurement strategies for direct materials suppliers, develop suppliers, execute savings projects, assure an adequate supplier assignation to each purchased item and support expediting processes with suppliers to assure that direct material is supplied in a proper time and that it will meet the delivery dates to minimize the risk of an inventory stock-out or revenue impact.how you will do it?
essential job responsibilitiesmanages assigned suppliers / commodities to ensure ongoing supply and appropriate pricing.ensure the cost, quality and time-oriented supply of all required goods, materials under compliance with the respective business plans, budgets and targets.ensure compliance to global procurement policies.improve working capital through optimum payment terms.ensure costs are competitive with markets.monitor vendor performance and support materials department to assure proper feedback and corrective actions are in place to improve vendor development.assure that problems relating to delivery, pricing and invoicing are promptly conveyed to the vendor and resolved in a timely manner per standard procedures to avoid material shortages.lead and coordinate savings projects.lead and coordinate procurement assignments on npi projects.set up new suppliers and manage the existing ones in vendor master.manage the suppliers within the given programs (request for quotes rfq, change management, contract negotiations, payment queries, dispute resolutions etc.
)define and negotiate warranty terms and process with suppliers.review annual supplier performance.support to implement strategies and actions to reduce suppliers, in line with agreed targets.support implementation of global commodity strategies.implement strategies and actions to achieve fy (fiscal year) cost reduction goals, including po-to-po (purchasing order) reductions and rebates.support accurate and timely reporting of key measurable.support va/ve projects.present new projects or sourcing strategies in the sourcing board.implementation and continuous improvement of standardization activities.support and implement diversity strategies.what we look for?Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field.5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.strong negotiation and communication skills.proficiency in microsoft office suite (excel, word, powerpoint).ability to analyze data and develop reports.fluent in english; spanish language skillsare a plus.why join us?At johnson controls, we are committed to fostering a diverse work environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
