Job requirements
- perform complex chemical analyses: perform tests and analyses on biological samples.
- interpret results: interpret test results, identify anomalies, and provide recommendations to manufacturing or healthcare professionals.
- develop and validate assays: develop, validate, and implement new assays and methods to improve laboratory services.
- quality control and assurance: participate in quality control and assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable laboratory results.
- collaboration and communication: collaborate with healthcare professionals, scientists, and other laboratory personnel to provide expert advice and support.
- keep abreast of advances: keep abreast of advances in clinical chemistry, laboratory medicine, and related fields.
- responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory of materials, lot control, and sample lot matching.
- schedules preventative maintenance and updates records for designated areas. Ensures the calibration of laboratory instrumentation.
- maintains the quality control program.
- coordinates and ensures peer-to-peer competency training and assessment. Demonstrates techniques and presents educational information in a clear and organized manner. Completes training checklists.
- responsible for the u.s., mexico, and u.s. quality control laboratories, which analyze raw materials, in-process and finished products, and work on r&d, new products, new assays, analyzers, reagents, etc.
- must have a scientific approach to continuous improvement, problem-solving, and training.
*requirements*:
- education: master's or phd in clinical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.
- experience: minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a clinical or hospital-based laboratory.
- certification: board certification as a clinical chemist or equivalent (e.g., american board of clinical chemistry).
- analytical skills: strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- communication skills: excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- bilingual in spanish and english.
- us visa required. Sentri or the ability to obtain it is important.
- willingness to travel to the us and santee.
- valid driver's license, proof of current insurance, and a clean driving record.
- high degree of professionalism with the ability to be an energetic and passionate leader for the company.
