reporting to the senior vice president, mexico, the general manager, operations, will lead safe and efficient operations at the morelos complex, primarily at media luna. You will oversee mining, plant, maintenance, technical services, and planning, driving integration, cost performance, and a strong safety culture to consistently meet or exceed production targets.

torex gold is an intermediate gold producer based in canada, engaged in the exploration, development, and operation of its 100% owned morelos property, an area of 29,000 hectares in the highly prospective guerrero gold belt located 180 kilometres southwest of mexico city.
the company's principal asset is the morelos complex, which includes the el limón guajes ("elg") mine complex, the media luna mine, the epo project, a processing plant, and related infrastructure. Production from the morelos complex commenced in 2016, and an updated technical report for the morelos complex was released in march 2022.

*what we're looking for*:
*education*
- bachelor's degree in mining engineering, metallurgy, geology, civil, or industrial engineering.
- a master's or postgraduate degree in operations management, mining management, project management, or construction is strongly preferred.
*experienc*e*
- minimum of 15 years of progressive operational mining experience in mexico or latin america, including leadership of large, multidisciplinary teams across multiple site functions.
- at least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role, such as manager of operations or technical services, with demonstrated success in delivering safe, cost-effective production.
- proven experience in developing and standardizing internal processes and systems to drive operational excellence.
- extensive background in medium
- and long-term mine planning, resource management, and production forecasting.
- strong financial acumen with experience in strategic planning, budget management, and balancing operational costs with production goals.
- track record of implementing and sustaining a strong safety culture in line with industry best practices.
