Position summary
under the direction of the engineering management, the manufacturing engineer assists in the development of new products or processes as needed. Provides support to manufacturing, training, troubleshooting, product/process characterization, design and development of production fixtures, and process efficiency improvement. Supports product design and development while being innovative in creating new technologies and methods to drive continuous improvement.
primary responsibilities
* interact with management, customers, sales team, and technicians to select, modify, and optimize products or processes to meet customer requirements using statistical tools.
* develop and optimize processes to meet customer specifications.
* apply statistical experiments to optimize process capability.
* design, optimize cycle time, and reduce costs.
* drive design reviews and fsa.
* review and approve petty cash requisitions.
* follow up on deficiencies in products, materials, and processes through creative and innovative approaches. Also responsible for the accuracy of b.o.m. and routers.
* prepare various financial reports, both local and corporate.
* prepare and deliver cost variance, scrap, losses, ppc, muv, forecast, and operating expenses vs. budget reports.
* verify manufacturing details in products and processes after their launch.
* perform all other duties inherent to the position.
requirements
* bachelor's degree in manufacturing, electronics, or related field.
* 3 years of experience in a similar role.
* proficiency in microsoft office (word, powerpoint, excel).
* availability to travel (valid u.s. Visa required).
