Two (2) years college/equivalent preferred. Five (5) years fedex operations experience involving customs related activities at a management or professional level required. Must possess in-depth knowledge of country customs import/export restrictions and regulatory agency laws and requirements.
Knowledge of fedex operations, systems policies and procedures. Strong basic management, human relations and communication skills. Must currently be a member of fedex management or be leap endorsed. Must be bilingual (spanish and english).
In brazil, must speak portuguese and english. Maestro certification required.
To plan, organize, coordinate, and administer- through a subordinate staff- the processing of international shipments with customs; the application/billing of duties and taxes; the processing of paperwork of packages held in bond in all related import, export, and re-forwarding documents; and the processing of clearance, maintenance and transfer of goods into and out of the fedex warehouse.
Hires, selects, trains, motivates, develops, and evaluates a subordinate staff. Assists in the administration of an annual operating expense budget. Ensures cargo regulatory document entries are submitted/transmitted to country customs within established time standards and regulatory files are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Ensures parcels are received in warehouse according to established procedures. Directs the preparation of clearance documentation for shipments received for clients for whom fedex is the authorized broker, ensures goods are released to only authorized carriers, and proper signatures are obtained prior to release of goods. Administers the payment of duties and taxes to country customs and clearance of client shipments, controls the transfer of duties and taxes collection information to the accounting department, and supports collection of r.o.d. shipments.
