The mechanical design engineer ii position is part of the global process engineering services group within the cto organization. The mech design engineer ii will be part of an engineering group that is responsible for material cost savings, driving productivity improvements, and product support for air and thermal.
*key responsibilities*
- provide product and technical support to mexicali r&o by driving material savings initiatives, process improvements, and not -limited to product support activities per customer or internal requests.
- support the department’s productivity goal, through repair development.
- identify workscoping opportunities to improve business performance relating to reuse, repair, replace and extending maintenance manual limits.
- identify and implement aggressive cost reduction initiatives and identify external business opportunities relating to the repair & overhaul business
- operate as a team member in continuous improvement, six sigma and honeywell operating system (hos)*you must have*
- bachelor of science degree in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university
- +2 years of engineering experience within the aerospace or automotive industry

- blueprint interpretation and manufacturing processes
- ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, design drawings and related specifications
