Role summary:
as a member of the global logistics team, thelogistics specialistis responsible formanaginglogisticsrequirements across multiple sites within an assigned region. This role ensures the effective deployment and execution of site-specificlogisticsstrategies that align with businessobjectivesand support operational excellence.the logistics specialist develops andmaintainsstrong partnerships with keylogisticsproviders to optimize flowserve’slogisticsnetwork, strengthen service performance, and continuously enhance thecustomerorder-to-delivery experience.
this role also supports the onboarding and implementation oflogisticsproviders following sourcing events, ensuring a seamless transition and sustained service delivery.in addition, the logistics specialistidentifiesand advances initiatives that improve productivity, drive operational and financial performance, and elevate service levels across the region. A keycomponentof the position is the analysis of large and complex data sets to assesslogisticsperformance,identifytrends and improvement opportunities, andprovideactionable insights that support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
your role:
within the assigned region and for the site(s) under his/her responsibility, the selected candidate will:
• provide oversight of all transportationand 3pl/4plservices and modes both international and domestic toassistthe site(s) in achievinglogisticsexpectations using the logistics data repository.
• implement processes and proceduresin accordance withthegloballogisticsvisionand strategy to
achieve the desired performance level.
• ensure adherence to globallogisticspolicies and procedures as well as promote and provide training
on said policies.
• conduct training as needed on alllogisticsrequirements: project management, process
improvement, negotiation, sourcing, metrics reporting, incoterms, “lost profit” and performance to
revenue.
•collaborate insourcing events that affect his/her site(s)/region from needs analysis to providers’
onboarding(data collection, rfq preparation, rfq analysis, selection, implementation.)
• manage the escalation process to resolvelogisticsissues that affect siteperformances.
•demonstratean enterprise mindset approach, contributing effort and ideas for the global supply chain
team and support the global supply chain maturity growth.
1. develop a strong cross-functional relationship between globallogisticsand site supply chain teams to
enhancelogisticsknowledge and improve efficiencies across the enterprise
2. work with sitelogisticsteams to reduce lost opportunity spend through usage of flowserve’s authorized
vendor list (avl)ensuringthe routing guides are followed but also updated as needed.
3. monitor and report weekly carrierinvoicepast due amounts and assign any necessary actions to resolve.
4. maintain current site organizational contact list, includinglogistics, supply chain, and finance.
5. monitor any logistics-owned cost savings strategies.
6. participate in monthly and quarterly carrier business reviews and periodic rfq consultations as assigned.
7. effectively lead cross-functional corrective action to resolve intra-flowserve and external customerlogisticsissues.
8. promote flowserve’s culture for safety and integrity.
your profile:
9. bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience, with a minimumof 3 years of relevant experienceinlogisticsor a comparable operational role
10. proficient in microsoft office (excel, word, powerpoint)
11. basic / intermediate knowledge of current internationalimport/export guidelines, including incoterms, global air and ocean markets and methods
12. full understanding and competence on flowserve freight pay data repository
13. able to calculate and communicate performance and spend, including variance analysis and root-cause analysis via designated format for assigned flowserve sites.
14. full understanding and competence of flowserve approved freight vendor list by mode, region, with the ability to communicate site compliance performance and financial impacts.
15. proficiencywithglobal logistics tools and applications: project44, blue yonder,proship, expense allocate, vendor payment inquiry, freight rater.
16. full understanding of carrier kpis/metrics and ability to present that information accordingly.
17. ability to understand andutilizeanalytical applications and bi tools (i.e.,tableau)
