job responsibilities
* payment tracking: monitor and track customer payments to ensure timely receipt.
* accounts reconciliation: reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
* collections: follow up with customers on outstanding balances, send reminders, and secure overdue payments.
* record keeping: maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions.
* customer communication: provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries related to invoices, payments, and account terms.
* reporting: prepare and present regular accounts receivable reports to management.
* credit & terms management: monitor customer payment behavior and recommend payment terms based on history and timeliness. Assist in conducting credit checks for new customers and recommend credit limits to support informed financial decisions.
* process improvements: collaborate with management to design and implement process improvements and systems that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience.
qualifications
* education in accounting or finance.
* 4–7 years of proven experience in accounts receivable.
* proficiency in accounting software and ms office applications, crm tools, particularly excel, stripe, clover.
* understanding sales tax rules, w-9/1099 requirements, and u.s. invoicing norms.
* strong analytical skills with accuracy in data management.
* excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident engaging with clients.
* ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
* knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
