Marketing director role overview

the marketing director will drive profitable top-line growth and oversee marketing development for mexico. This role combines pressure-tested growth platforms and category opportunities while providing a strong mandate to evaluate and prioritise pockets of growth.

the marketing director will lead the development of best practices on strategic marketing, ensuring adoption of advanced methodologies. They will deeply understand and track the competitive landscape and manage product portfolios.

key responsibilities:

* developing the annual growth plan, aligning growth platforms and category priorities. This plan will guide marketing communication plans, budget allocation, and resource management.
* prioritising opportunities to guide innovation strategy and pipeline development, helping better alignment of innovation projects and resources.
* evaluating and prioritising pockets of growth across growth platforms and categories, estimating opportunity size and recommending business plans.
* understanding and tracking competitive landscapes to inform business decisions.
* partnering with sales and technical teams to drive go-to-market strategies.
* coaching and developing strategic marketing capabilities within the team.

business objectives:

* ensuring alignment between regional marketing and technical teams regarding the business plan and resource focus.
* collaborating with sales teams to drive specialties growth.
* maintaining deep understanding of categories and segments, influencing key customer stakeholders.
* organising and sharing competitor information.
* developing and executing plans to deliver current and future business goals.

agility and innovation:

* supporting general managers on strategy plans, partnering with regional or global teams for planning.
* accelerating opportunity pipeline conversion rates for gtm teams.
* identifying growth opportunities and prioritising across platforms.
* establishing an innovation agenda with top accounts.

relationships and people:

* leveraging relationships with third-party organisations for best marketing practices.
* attending meetings, building networks, and researching key practices to bring back to the organisation.
* overseeing talent management and development processes within the team.

requirements

* bachelor's degree, mba preferred, with at least 15 years of experience in strategic marketing.
* demonstrated experience in b2b marketing environments.
* experience in developing strategic growth plans is a plus.
* strong strategic marketing toolkit and methodology experience.
* formal voice-of-customer (voc) methodology experience is also beneficial.
* leadership experience and coaching skills are essential.
