about the role
the cybersecurity, compliance & risk management vulnerability and incident management specialists) represent harman’s commitment to detecting and remediating cybersecurity issues in its products. Reporting to the manager of the product security incident response team (psirt), this role closely collaborates with it security, various product development and maintenance teams, cybersecurity authorities, and industry groups to drive harman’s response to cybersecurity incidents and threats. Continuously adapting and adopting new tool, processes, and solutions to keep users and their products safe. what you will do
4. closely collaborate with it security, global vulnerability and incident management, development, and maintenance teams to drive the resolution of vulnerabilities and incidents related to harman products.
5. drive communication and coordination related to incidents with 3rd parties such as oems, suppliers, and numbering authorities.
6. produce security advisories, bulletins, and reporting related to vulnerabilities and incidents.
7. engage in the adoption and adaptation of tools and processes.
8. continuously improve ways of work surrounding threat intelligence, vulnerability analysis, and incident response.
9. act as a process and technology advisor during incident and vulnerability responses to support teams in their decision-making processes.
10. mentor junior team members.
11. support the manager of psirt in ensuring day to day operations of the team.

what you need to be successful
13. bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical field; 6+ years of relevant experience in a cybersecurity role
14. 4 – 6 years of technical cybersecurity experience
15. ability to work in time sensitive situations while demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
16. ability to influence without authority and cultivate collaboration.
17. experience in either it, embedded systems, threat intelligence, or cybersecurity in general.
18. experience in ot / ics, embedded, or product contexts for cybersecurity.
19. excellent working knowledge of cyber security standards, risks, and mitigation strategies.
20. strong written and verbal communication skills.
21. strong fundamentals around incident management and operations.
22. proficient (c1 – c2) in english
23. demonstrated contributions to team culture, process improvements, and knowledge sharing activities.
24. capability to self-organize tasks while also guiding or coordinating tasks for junior team members.
bonus points if you have
25. aiag certification
26. masters degree
27. sans giac certifications in a cybersecurity discipline – especially incident handler specific certification(s) – or equivalent.
28. risk management knowledge and experience.
29. proficiency in scripting languages, low code environments, or technical tooling configuration
30. knowledge of predictive and agile project management styles.
31. conversational and/or technical german.
32. active participation in conferences, consortiums, or capture the flag events.
33. knowledge of csirt (cyber security incident response team), psirt (product security incident response team), or first (forum of incident response teams) norms and ways of work.
34. portfolio of prior cybersecurity work or relevant publications / presentations

35. be willing to travel up to 5%, domestic only or domestic and international travel.
36. be willing to work in an office or remotely.
37. successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
