we are seeking a senior network l3 routing & switching engineer to join our infrastructure operations team. This role is designed for experienced network professionals who can operate as the highest technical escalation point, ensuring stability, availability, and optimal performance of enterprise and data center networks.
position objective
the objective of this role is to provide level 3 network support for complex enterprise environments, focusing on advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of routing and switching infrastructure. The engineer will play a key role in maintaining high availability and supporting mission‐critical network services in a 24x7 operational environment.
key responsibilities
* provide l3 technical support for escalated network incidents and outages
* perform advanced troubleshooting using logs, debugs, and packet-level analysis
* manage and support enterprise routing & switching environments
* lead root cause analysis (rca) and define preventive actions
* support data center network infrastructure
* participate in network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities
* work with servicenow for incidents, change requests, and work orders
* act as a technical reference and provide guidance to l1/l2 teams
technical requirements
* 8–12 years of experience in enterprise routing & switching (l3 support)
* strong hands-on experience with cisco routing protocols: bgp, ospf, eigrp
* advanced knowledge of switching technologies: vlans, stp/rstp, vpc, trunking
* experience with high availability protocols: hsrp, vrrp, glbp
* hands-on experience managing cisco nexus (9k, 7k, 5k) and catalyst (6500, 4500)
* solid knowledge of cisco aci, including:
* apic controllers
* leaf & spine architecture
* epgs, contracts, policies, and l3 outs
* experience working in data center environments
* strong verbal communication skills in english
* ccnp routing & switching certification (required)
nice to have:
* knowledge of sd‐wan (velocloud)
