Job summary:
we are seeking a highly motivated and organized professional to serve as our alumni engagement manager.
this role will be responsible for developing and implementing programs, events, and relationships to enhance alumni involvement and pride in fort lewis college.
the ideal candidate will have exceptional relationship-building skills, strong organizational and planning abilities, and a passion for building connections and fostering a strong alumni network.
key responsibilities:
* develop and implement comprehensive plans to maintain and grow alumni connections, driving volunteer engagement and giving that supports the college's strategic priorities.
* built, collaborate with campus partners and the advancement team to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni giving and recruit and manage alumni involvement in mentoring, volunteering, and communication efforts.
* establish, build, and steward relationships with alumni, community members, campus partners, and volunteers to advance the college's mission and ensure successful engagement experiences that result in service, giving, and advocacy.
* develop and support formalized alumni engagement volunteer efforts that foster meaningful connections and build social capital for students through mentorship and other strategies.
requirements:
* bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in volunteer management, event planning, fundraising or the equivalent combination of experience.
* demonstrated track record of project management and leadership, as well as a progressive level of responsibility with a fast-paced organization.
* experience in fostering productive relationships with diverse volunteer communities and developing volunteer leadership.
* demonstrably strong writing, planning, and organizational skills.
* demonstrated success in leading collaborations with multiple partners to develop and achieve shared success.
* working knowledge of computer systems and software, including microsoft outlook, word, powerpoint, and excel.
preferred qualifications:
* experience working in alumni engagement programs.
* experience in philanthropic fundraising.
* working knowledge of donor and alumni prospect management systems.
* extensive experience in a higher education setting.
