job description summary
bluetent is seeking an experienced and dynamic senior wordpress developer with expert-level skills in react, gutenberg, and building custom wordpress plugins. You will play a critical role in enhancing the performance, functionality, and scalability of our wordpress websites and custom plugins, ensuring seamless integration with external saas applications via apis. what you’ll do (functions & responsibilities)
* lead the continued development, maintenance, and optimization of our custom wordpress plugin designed for enterprise-scale environments.
* create, refine, and maintain custom gutenberg blocks using react.js, with a focus on high performance and responsiveness.
* ensure smooth integration between wordpress and our saas application by utilizing robust apis and troubleshooting communication issues effectively.
* debug complex backend and frontend issues quickly and efficiently, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring an optimal user experience across all devices and browsers.
* optimize database queries and overall wordpress site performance, ensuring fast load times and high scalability.
* write and maintain high-quality, efficient, and secure code, adhering to development best practices such as automated testing (phpunit, jest, cypress), ci/cd pipelines, php and javascript linting, and version control.
* collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement in both code and infrastructure and proactively implement solutions.
qualifications
what we’re looking for (minimum qualifications)
* expert level wordpress experience (5+ years), including gutenberg editor.
* advanced level design skills (2+ years)
* expert-level proficiency in wordpress development, specifically with react.js and gutenberg block development.
* strong experience with building custom wordpress plugins that integrate with saas applications using rest apis.
* proven track record of working on complex, large-scale, multi-site wordpress projects.
* extensive experience with local development environments, particularly docker.
* hands-on experience with sql and nosql databases, optimizing queries and improving database performance.
* solid understanding of wordpress architecture, including the wp-rest-api.
* experience with automated testing frameworks like phpunit (php), jest (javascript), and cypress (end-to-end testing).
* ability to quickly troubleshoot and debug issues related to api integrations, react-based components, and backend performance.
* familiarity with ci/cd pipelines and automated deployment processes.
* experience with browser debugging tools and techniques for optimizing frontend performance across various devices and browsers.
* an understanding of cloud infrastructure and how to build scalable wordpress solutions.
