Position overview
the project manager – marine facilities & site works will lead the planning, design coordination, permitting interface, procurement, construction, and commissioning of all marine infrastructure and site development activities for the amigo lng export terminal in guaymas, mexico. The role will focus on ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of the lng marine terminal, including jetty, berth(s), quad berth loading, civil works, shore - marine interfaces, and site preparation works, while aligning with international lng terminal standards, environmental regulations, and stakeholder expectations.
key responsibilities
* project management & leadership
* manage the full lifecycle of marine and site works, from epc contractor engagement through commissioning.
* lead multi-disciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, construction, hse, quality, and marine consultants.
* develop and manage project execution plans, budgets, and schedules for marine facilities and site infrastructure.
* engineering & technical oversight
* oversee design and engineering of marine facilities (jetties, quad berths, civil works, offshore/onshore tie-ins).
* ensure compliance with international codes, standards (api, ocimf, sigtto, pianc), and mexican maritime/port regulations.
* regulatory & stakeholder engagement
* interface with mexican port and maritime authorities (asipona guaymas, semar, semarnat).
* ensure compliance with environmental and social impact assessments, marine permits, and coastal zone regulations.
* engage with local community stakeholders to minimize impact and maximize local benefits.
* epc / contractor management
* manage epc and subcontractors for marine and site works, ensuring safety, quality, and cost control.
* negotiate scopes, contracts, and change orders.
* monitor contractor progress, risk management, and reporting.
* construction & commissioning
* oversee civil works, site management, piling, trestle, jetty construction, loading platform and overall marine facilities development.
* ensure marine works are executed with minimal disruption to existing guaymas port operations.
* lead marine facility commissioning and interface with lng shipping operations team.
qualifications & experience
* bachelor's degree in civil, marine, structural, mechanical or coastal engineering.
* minimum 15+ years of experience in marine infrastructure, with at least 5 years in lng, oil & gas terminals, or port facilities.
* proven track record in epc contract management and execution of large-scale marine or port projects.
* strong knowledge of dredging, reclamation, piling, concrete marine structures, and coastal protection works.
* familiarity with mexican regulatory frameworks for marine and environmental permitting.
* excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills (spanish and english proficiency required).
