About the role
provides administrative support to the team to ensure the main metrics required, such as optimization of inventories ensuring coverage of customer requirements and sops without incurring excess or obsolescence, accurate forecast to suppliers based on mrp demands (sap), measurement of kpis by maintaining a scorecard for the team, among others. Ensures effective communication and support to the main internal client. Works hand in hand with the purchasing manager to ensure timely delivery of the main reports and assignments.
responsibilities
* ensure correct planning releases of purchased parts are sent by the team.
* ensure a safe launch for all new products from the purchasing side.
* ensure packaging inventory for all fg demands.
* coordinate engineering changes by the purchasing side, ensuring close communication with the engineering team.
* validate and optimize inventory levels, preventing shortages, excess or obsolescence.
* validate and constantly update all purchased parts parameters.
* balance the team workloads.
* track the deliverables of the team and keep the score cards updated.
* investigate discrepancies on receipt quantities, missing certifications, packing lists, etc.
* monitor supplier performance and implement action if needed.
* negotiate with internal customers any problem related to shipments (delivery problems).
* monitor and comply with premium freight goals.
* supervise planners/buyers & materials analysts in the function of raw material delivery.
* ensure the saa and sc requirements are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with iso 14001 and iatf16949.
* initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to products, process quality systems and environmental management system.
* provide solutions through established communications channels.
* ensure compliance with the performance of the management system iso 14001 & iso 45001.
* complete compliance tasks assigned by the purchasing manager.
requirements & qualifications
* computer proficiency with ms office applications is a must.
* strong communication skills coupled with the ability to work in a team environment.
* strong skills in capacity planning and constraint‑based planning.
* ba, bs or engineering equivalent with a supply chain planning/materials emphasis.
* advanced english level.
* knowledge of iso/ts 16949 and iso 14001.
* +3 years as planner, buyer or in a materials department.
* customer specific requirements (applicable).
* bonus points for communication skills (oral and written), customer focus, planning and organization, social and group skills, initiative, presentation skills, teamwork skills, and high sense of urgency.
