*the position*:
- reporting organizationally to the country senior manager, the host city, volunteer manager will help serve volunteer efforts for the fifa world cup 2026.
this role will be responsible for driving the end-2-end volunteer journey at a host city level, with a planning and operational focus on recruitment, training and tournament delivery phases alongside the overarching management of the volunteer experience.
the main responsibilities of the host city volunteer manager include:
- create and execute local engagement, recruitment, training, and operational delivery plans for the specific city volunteer program.
- develop and implement training plans to equip volunteers with necessary skills and knowledge.
- use the fifa volunteer platform to manage volunteer availability, preferences, roles, communication, and scheduling.
- address and resolve volunteer-related issues and conflicts promptly and professionally.
- analyze volunteer performance data and feedback, implement improvement strategies, and prepare regular reports for management and stakeholders.
- ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to volunteer management and event operations in their specific city.

the specific competencies we require for this position are:
- fluent in english and spanish.
- at least three years of experience in events / volunteer management or project management, ideally international mass events.
- ability to create, engage, and foster productive working relationships with local authorities and volunteer groups, work effectively under pressure, and operate both independently and within a dynamic, cross-functional team structure.
- bachelor's degree or similar level of education.
